Tennis

Introduction

Auckland Grammar School offers Tennis at a junior and senior level with competitions held within the school and at regional and national events, including Tennis Nationals, Champion of Champions, and the traditional Quadrangular and Christchurch Exchange fixtures.

2022 is an exciting year for Tennis at Auckland Grammar School as we look to provide greater opportunities for all tennis enthusiasts. We have developed a relationship with Ngatira Club and Sparta Academy, for usage of courts, as well as professional coaching for all players.

Teams are available for competitive players (that is, layers who have played interclub) and non-competitive players.

Any students who are joining Grammar, who are graded at S9 or higher, should get in touch with Master in Charge of Tennis Mr Daniel as soon as possible at the start of the School year.

2022 Captain of Tennis Carlson Lim spoke to Headmaster’s Heritage Committee member Saikrishna Bangalore about the strengths of the team this year and how, despite the team being relatively new, they are able to grow, evolve and work together – watch his interview below.
