Swimming

Introduction

Swimming at Auckland Grammar School consists of a school competition for all students and interschool and national competitions for competitive swimmers.

The School’s Swimming Sports Championships is held at Lagoon Leisure Centre in Panmure, where students from all levels compete for various trophies and medals. With the completion of the new outdoor pool later in 2022, the annual Swimming Sports will now be able to held on campus.

At the National meet in Wellington in 2019, the nerves got the better of 2022 Captain of Swimming Luke Hair and he unfortunately false started on his final. But he was able to move forward from that and is proud to captain the squad this year. He spoke to Headmaster’s Heritage Committee member Joshua Fisher about what is next for the squad and how the new swimming pool complex will change things for future generations of students – watch the full interview below.
