Snowboarding

Introduction

The Auckland Grammar Snowboarding team’s main competition is the North Island Secondary Schools Snowboarding Competition (NISSSC), which is held near the end of term three on the Turoa Ski Field Ohakune. Trials and Recreational sessions are conducted at the Snowplanet facility in Silverdale.

The competition has three elements – the Slope Style, the Dual Slalom and the Boardercross. The School is only permitted to enter three riders per event but all are encouraged to trial and gain experience.

Costs that are incurred are generally admission costs to Snowplanet, entry costs to the NISSSC, accommodation costs while at the championships and general costs such as minibus expenses.
