Pre-Classification Testing

The pre-classification test is a general aptitude test. Students sit this test towards the conclusion of their Year 8 studies before coming to Auckland Grammar School. This test accounts for 20% weighting in determining a student’s Term 1 provisional class placement.

Please see below for the 2023 testing dates for the 2024 academic year:

• Auckland Normal Intermediate School – testing will take place at Auckland Grammar School (in the Study Centre) on Friday 17 November 2023 from 9:30am-11.30am. Please ensure your son arrives promptly at 9.15am (meet at Gate 4 and they will be escorted to the Study Centre)
• Kohia Terrace and Kowhai Intermediate Schools – testing will take place at Auckland Grammar School on Friday 24 November from 10am-12pm
• St Kent’s School – testing will take place at Auckland Grammar School on Monday 27 November from 9am-11am
