Pre-Classification Testing
The pre-classification test is a general aptitude test. Students sit this test towards the conclusion of their Year 8 studies before coming to Auckland Grammar School. This test accounts for 20% weighting in determining a student’s Term 1 provisional class placement.
Testing dates for 2022 for the 2023 academic year
Students currently in Year 8 in 2022 and attending one of the below intermediate schools will be required to sit their pre-classification test either at their intermediate, or on campus at Auckland Grammar School, on the dates and times provided:
- Parnell District School (at Parnell District School) – Thursday 3 November between 9:30am-11:30am
- Remuera Intermediate School (at Remuera Intermediate School) – Wednesday 9 November between 10:15am-12:15pm
- King’s Prep (at King’s Prep) – Friday 18 November between 8:30am-10:30am
- Auckland Normal Intermediate School (in the Study Centre at Auckland Grammar School) – Friday 25 November between 10am-12pm
- Kohia Terrace School (in the Study Centre at Auckland Grammar School) – Friday 25 November between 10am-12pm
- Kowhai Intermediate School (in the Study Centre at Auckland Grammar School) – Friday 25 November between 10am-12pm
- St Kentigern School (at Auckland Grammar School) – Thursday 1 December
If your son doesn’t attend one of the above intermediate schools, or he missed his allocated testing date, he will need to complete the classification testing at the 2023 Orientation Morning, held on Thursday 1 December 2022 beginning at 9:15am in the Great Hall at Auckland Grammar School.
