Clarinet
Possibly the most popular woodwind instrument, the clarinet is capable of playing with incredible sensitivity and producing technical fireworks, all wrapped up in a silky-smooth sound. Students who play the clarinet are able to join the Symphony Orchestra, Premier Concert Band or the Wind Band when they have reached the required level of competency.
Due to strong competition, it is not always the best choice for a beginner – there is usually more room to shine playing a more unusual instrument. However, if you love the sound and are determined to succeed do not let anything stand in your way!
The clarinet is taught by Andrew Uren – click here to enrol in clarinet lessons. Instrument hire can be arranged through the Music department, subject to availability – please contact the Music department for further information.
