Students who wish to enter NZQA Scholarship examinations that clash with their Cambridge examinations can go ahead with entries for Scholarships. We will resolve exam clashes if at all possible.

Any students who have identified clashes in the end-of-year Cambridge and/or Scholarship exams series are asked to see Mr Hunter to check that the clash has been noted.

The Association of Cambridge Schools in New Zealand is holding Cambridge Revision Classes during the third term holidays, beginning on 2 October. All classes are run by experienced Cambridge teachers who are currently teaching their specialist subjects at Cambridge Schools in Auckland and classes are offered in a range of subjects at AS and A2 level. These classes, which vary in length depending on the subject, are held at Grammar between 9.00am and 2.30pm each day. Registrations for these classes are open and places are limited, so you need to get in quick as over 1000 students attend these revision classes each year. There is a DELF tutorial in C16 during Lunchtime today for students sitting the A1 examination.

A reminder to F3 and F4 that all Term 2 English issued textbooks are to be returned to E12 this week. If you are unsure please see Mrs Curry in room E12.

There is a Form Period for all students in all form levels this morning after today’s assembly. If you are still unsure where your Form Room is, ask your Form Master on your way out of the Hall, and make your way to your Form Room promptly after being dismissed from this assembly.

There is a Form Period for all students in all form levels on Wednesday morning this week, after Assembly. Importantly, this is when senior students will receive important Cambridge and NCEA exam documentation.

All students will move directly from Assembly to Form Rooms. Lists of Form Rooms are posted on the pillars of this hall. Check to confirm your Form Room today, as you leave Assembly, ready for Wednesday.

If you are an NCEA student who has missed or will miss an internal assessment deadline or in-class assessment and you have a legitimate reason for being absent, you may be eligible for an extension. You can access the extension form via the AGS Portal using your Grammar login.

While it is essential that you are in School, completing class work and internal assessments, if at all possible, if you are unwell, the School would prefer that you are at home recovering and not at School potentially infecting others. This is one of the reasons we have an extension application process.

You should complete the extension application form the day before you return to School, and be ready to provide a medical certificate or Ministry of Health confirmation of notification of a positive Covid test result as supporting evidence for your application.

Please note that the Study Centre Catch-Up Sessions will run again in Term 3.

Form 7 students who wish to opt into Cambridge International's automatic release of results to Australian universities service in January need to complete a form online. Fill in the form by following the link on your GrammarNet dashboard by Friday 12 August.

The next meeting for scholarship geography will be in G2 on Wednesday at lunch time. There are readings and tasks posted to the Grammarnet page. See Mr Maguire in the Geography Department with any questions.

There will be a meeting in H2 at lunchtime today for all History Scholars. See Mr Leiseder if you have any questions.

Students in 3rd or 4th Form interested in signing up for the Science Bowl Competition should attend a meeting in P4 at lunchtime today.

Any senior students who have not signed up and wish to participate should also attend.

The Chronicle is running its annual competition. Students are invited to submit entries for the following categories:

Details of the competition will be posted on the noticeboards in the English Department and the Library or see Mr Quelch and Mrs Lazarus for information.

Form 6 and 7 students - an opportunity to attend a First Aid Course funded through the STAR Programme. This course offers a chance to gain NCEA Credits. Please register your interest via GrammarNet/Student Services/Careers/Universities/STAR Courses - deadline Friday 5th of August, 2022.

Choir practice for all Grammar Voices members is on at lunchtime today in the Centennial Theatre.

The list of boys who have been selected to do the trial for the library monitor positions is now on the noticeboard in the library. There is a meeting for these boys, tomorrow at lunchtime in the Heritage room of the library.

There will be a meeting to discuss the upcoming New Zealand Secondary School Duathlon Championship at Pukekohe on the 14th of August 2022. All interested students should meet with Mr Jervis in T4 at Lunchtime on Thursday this week.
