Introduction

The Auckland Grammar School Squash Team currently comprises of 16 teams and 145 boys playing squash - a record for the school. We have three premier teams, two of which play in the A division, a Senior A team, five Senior B teams as well as two Junior teams participating in the weekly inter-school competition.

Aside from the competitive teams, Auckland Grammar School currently offers six social teams that play in a school competition, anyone is welcome to join these teams.

Squash Achievements

The Auckland Grammar School Squash Team has an illustrious history of success at a regional and national level. In 2008, the Premier team were the National Secondary Schools' Squash champions for the sixth consecutive year. At the 2013 Auckland Secondary School Intercollegiate Squash Championships, the Auckland Grammar team came first.

General Information

Terms played: Term 2 and Term 3

Game days:

  • Friday after School - Premier 1 and 2 and the Boys A (Senior A and Junior A)
  • Mondays (Junior B)
  • Wednesdays (Senior B)

Practice times: Monday-Thursday 3:45pm-5pm

Costs: $20 per player in Inter-school competitions

Equipment: Own squash racquet, non-marking shoes, white shirt. Boys must wear eye protection (provided by the School)

Registration: End of Term 1 - date will be announced, so listen for the notice in assembly

Other information: Must have a grading or have played regularly at a club

The Master in Charge of Squash is Mr Bahlmann. Students are able to speak to him in the English department during the School day or contact him via email.
