Euphonium

Euphonium

Often called, "the cello of the brass section", the euphonium has a beautiful expressive tone, can play technically advanced music and is a key solo instrument in the Premier Concert Band and Wind Band, as well as the Symphony Orchestra.

Outside school, local Brass Bands are very keen to attract good young euphonium players. Instrument hire can be arranged through the Music department, subject to availability - please contact Mrs Mackenzie, the Music department administrator, for further information.

2017 Head Prefect Lachlan Grant (pictured below right) played the euphonium as part of the Symphony Orchestra, during his last year at Auckland Grammar.

The Euphonium is taught by Mr Close - click here to enrol for lessons. Listen to the euphonium here.
