Mrs Sandra Heslin - International Student Manager

I enjoy my role as International Student Manager.

It’s lovely to see young students arrive with a wish list of all the things they want to achieve while at our school. I see our students often on a daily basis, helping them settle into school life and making sure their host families are looking after them well.
It’s so important for our students to be happy in their new homes and experience the Kiwi family way of life!

I encourage our students to work through their wish lists, achieving good results in their chosen subjects and involving themselves in extra curricular activities, sport, music, joining a cultural group, debating team or drama group.

It is also important for our students to embrace the Kiwi way of life after school, on the weekends and in the holidays with friends and Host Families. I encourage our students to make use of our International Department's support and services that are always available. The students often phone me in the evening and over the weekends and they text and email me. They may have a question for me or just wish to share the result of a Rugby or hockey game that they have done well in.

They leave our school as mature 'Grammar Men’ who have more than completed their wish lists and are ready to embrace their tertiary studies in the future.
