Academic Endowment Fund

About The Fund

The Academic Endowment Fund reflects Auckland Grammar School's commitment to excellence. It is an endowment fund aimed at generating an annual income to be used to attract, reward and retain quality teaching staff. The ultimate beneficiaries are the students.

The Foundation Trust is responsible for the management and investment of the Academic Endowment Fund.

To date distributions of over $2 million have been made to Auckland Grammar School teaching staff. The distributions have been made to support the following initiatives:

  • Recruit, reward and retain top teachers in subject areas such as Art, Business Studies, Classics/Latin, English, Learning Support, Maths and Music to name a few
  • Reward co-curricular involvement
  • Acknowledge middle management responsibilities
  • Provide incentives for ‘Master’ teachers

Support for the Academic Endowment Fund comes from a number of fundraising initiatives: gifts from Parents, Old Boys and other supporters of the AEF Faculty Funds; the Augusta Fellowship Bequest Programme; annual events like the Gala Dinner, Sailing Regatta, and Art Exhibition; the Annual Appeal; and the Heritage Hall Forms project. We also intend to explore other fundraising avenues such as calling on support from Old Boys and Friends of Auckland Grammar School who are based overseas. With the help of the Grammar community we can reach our goal of raising $20 million by 2020. We are very grateful for your support, no matter how large or small.

If you contribute to Grammar’s Giving Programme, we will invite you to the annual Friends of the School function. Donations of $3,000 or $6,000 can secure your family name on a Heritage Form in the Main Hall. All donations of $5,000 and over are recognised in the AEF Donor’s Book outside the Headmaster’s Study in the main reception area of the School. All donations of $25,000 and above are recognised on the AEF Major Donors Honours Boards in the Heritage Room in the Library.

We hope that you will help keep Grammar great!
