Information Centre Facilities

Extensions to the Library and Information Centre were officially opened in February, 2000 . These extensions have created space for the library to house up to four classes in separate sections at any one time. The Fiction Room provides an ideal environment for silent reading classes. The original library, opened in 1931, has been retained as the Heritage Room. The Non-Fiction space contains the computers, a scanner, a printer and the Information File. It provides an effective research environment. The Vaughan Jones Seminar Room (named after Fields Medal winner Vaughan Jones, an Old Boy of the school ) can be booked for meetings, seminars, video screenings and when not in use by classes, is available for silent study.

Services

The library provides a broad collection of resources aimed at meeting the curricula and recreational needs of Grammar students. There is an extensive and diverse fiction collection. Non-fiction and reference materials are available in both print and electronic formats. Magazines include academic and general interest serials and are reference only. Both a black and white photocopier-scanner and colour copier are available for student use.

Technology is an integral part of the Grammar Library. The catalogue is available on the school's network as well as access to electronic indexes, encyclopedias and databases. The Internet is available for research.
