Head Prefects and Senior Prefects 2012

Head Prefect - Joel Bateman

Joel Bateman is an outstanding young man with a special ability to motivate, lead and inspire his peers while maintaining absolute focus and dedication to achieve his best academically. He also has the ability to know what is required in every situation.

He is consistently mature, reliable, honest and conscientious coupled with a good sense of humility.

As cox of the Senior Rowing Eight last year he led them to only the School’s second ever Maadi Cup victory; this year he has been named as Captain of Rowing. Joel has also represented the school in football and tennis.

Joel is an independent thinker and someone who is well organised, quietly confident and totally dependable. He has an excellent rapport with both boys and masters and shows enormous engagement in all he encounters.

I have no doubt that Joel Bateman will be an outstanding leader of the student body for 2012.

Deputy Head Prefect - Taha Brown

Taha Brown is a superb young man in all respects. He is articulate, intelligent, reliable and polite. His innate leadership qualities mean that his peers naturally look up to him, and his quiet strength and dignity earn him respect from both staff and students alike.

Taha is a proud Grammar boy, extremely reliable, trustworthy, always immaculately presented and a great role model and mentor for younger boys.

Taha’s sporting strengths are well known. He has played 1st XV rugby since Form 5 and has also represented the school in adventure racing, touch, cricket and athletics where he is in line for a position of responsibility this year.

As a young man of significant mana and a clear appreciation of all the opportunities that Grammar has afforded him, I am certain that Taha Brown will form a very effective partnership with Joel and prove to be a superb Deputy Head Prefect.
